UNIBOA

The United Bassa Organizations in the Americas (UNIBOA) is a non-profit, non-political and non-sectarian
organization of Liberians from the Bassa counties comprising the political sub-divisions of Grand Bassa,
Margibi, Rivercess and Montserrado counties, engaged in social, humanitarian and community development programs.

The United Bong County Association in the Americas

The Association claims it remains objective in providing a medium through which citizens of Bong County residing
in the Americas can address their common concerns. It shall enhance social unity, and strive to preserve cultural
ties amongst us. Finally, the Association will continue to promote and preserve our patriotic ties with our Motherland,
Liberia. In short, it is our mission is to build an association that will become the symbol and pride of the Bong
County community in particular and the Liberian community in general.

reconstruction of our county and country, the United Bong County Associations in the Americas, Inc. shall endeavor
to enhance educational, cultural, social and health ties among the peoples of Bong County, the Republic of Liberia

ULAA
Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas
|
The Union of Liberian Associations in the Americas (ULAA) is the umbrella group of Liberians and their various organizations in the Americas. ULAA is a voluntary, nonprofit and non-governmental organization formed on July 4, 1974 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States of America. The mission of ULAA is to advance the just causes of Liberians and Liberia at home and abroad. The general principles of ULAA are to promote and encourage national reconciliation, integration and unification; preserve and protect Liberian culture, history and traditions; uphold and defend fundamental rights, including the human rights and civil liberties of Liberians everywhere; cultivate and harness the energies and resources of Liberians to improve the quality of life of all Liberians abroad; and advocate and advance the cause of constitutional democracy and sustainable national development in the Republic of Liberia.

UNAMSIL
|
On 22 October 1999, the Security Council established UNAMSIL to cooperate with the Government and the other parties in implementing the Lome Peace Agreement and to assist in the implementation of the disarmament, demobilization and reintegration plan. On 7 February 2000, the Council revised UNAMSIL's mandate. It also expanded its size, as it did once again on 19 May 2000 and on 30 March 2001. UNAMSIL Headquarters, Mammy Yoko, P. O. UNECA
UN Economic Commission for Africa

Established in 1958, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) is one of five regional commissions under the administrative direction of the United National Headquarters. Its member states are 53 African nations, represented by their ministers of finance and planning. As the regional arm of the United Nations in Africa, ECA's primary responsibility is to carry out activities encouraging the growth of the economic and social sectors on the continent. It is also part of the network of African intergovernmental institutions and organizations that implement the various agendas for development adopted by Member States.

The UNESCO Water Portal is intended to enhance access to information related to freshwater available on the World Wide Web. The site provides links to the current UNESCO and UNESCO-led programmes on freshwater and will serve as an interactive point for sharing, browsing and searching websites of water-related organizations, government bodies and NGOs, including a range of categories such as water links, water events, learning modules and other on-line resources.

make the world a better place for children. Part of the United Nations system, UNICEF
has an enviable mandate and mission, to advocate for children's rights and help meet
their needs.

UNICO
|
The idea of UNICCO was first conceived in April 1977 in New York City by Nimba students in the United States. As the number of Nimbaians in the United States grew, there was need for an independent organization that would address the needs of both students and ordinary Nimbaians. On May 9, 1979, the two existing Nimba Student Associations of New York and Georgia, merged to form one central organization called "UNICCO, United Nimba Citizens' Council" making it one of the first African non-profit organizations in the United States.

United States Embassy

The United States Embassy in Monrovia operates primarily to promote
understanding and acceptance of U.S. Government policies, goals and programs. The The Office of Public Affairs (OPA)
provides information to Liberian leaders from all segments of society who influence public policy and shape public opinions. The Office
of Public Affairs' ultimate objective is to promote the national interests of the United States -- democracy,
regional security, human rights, education, health, environmentally sustainable development, equal opportunities
and free market economies. The United States Agency for International Development promotes United States Government foreign assistance
goals through programs designed to advance democracy and economic security in less-developed nations, including Liberia.

University of Liberia
|
The University of Liberia (UL) is one of West Africa's oldest institutions of higher learning.
It was damaged by Liberia's 1989-1997 civil war. Recent fighting in Monrovia reversed gains made
in reconstructing the university. Reports say the University's facilities were badly looted.
UL authorities are now undertaking a damage assessment, and making plans to reopen the university.

UNMIL
|
The United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) was established by Security Council resolution 1509 (2003)
of 19 September 2003 to support the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the peace process; protect
United Nations staff, facilities and civilians; support humanitarian and human rights activities; as well as
assist in national security reform, including national police training and formation of a new, restructured
military.

UN MISSION LIBERIA
|
On 19 September, the Security Council unanimously adopted resolution 1509 (2003) welcoming the
Secretary-General's report of 11 September 2003 and its recommendations. It decided that UNMIL would
consist of up to 15,000 United Nations military personnel, including up to 250 military observers and
160 staff officers, and up to 1,115 civilian police officers, including formed units to assist in the
maintenance of law and order throughout Liberia, and the appropriate civilian component.

US fund for UN trip

Following in the footsteps of legendary UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Audrey Hepburn, U.S. Fund for UNICEF National Ambassador LAURENCE FISHBURNE made a special field trip in 1997 to Abidjan, Ivory Coast, and Monrovia, Liberia, as a spokesperson and advocate for the world's children.
